  • I didn't have to hear it first to find out that it was a 12" from The Masochist. In fact even if this record was in a white label without sleeve it could have been also easy. Why? Because all the songs follow the same pattern. Let's begin with the drum line. Da damn record, Don't give a shit and anticipation share the same slow line with Killing scum and Masochizm for example or even Od and No Newstyle (by the way all are between 1998-1999) a very close date. It's like having a metronome showing you how to play the drum lines. The melodies also look like each other. To be honest, hardcore from the years 1998-2000 was in a free fall, so we can't expect to have good songs from this era. Nevertheless, i enjoyed somehow Da damn record. The A2 track Chant isn't actually a song. It sounds like pray from monks with some sound effects in the background, so there is no judgement for this track. This 12" won't be a crown jewel in my collection, but i do not regret buying it.
